FAQs

Can you engrave logos or custom designs?

Yes - we regularly engrave logos, handwriting, and custom designs on a wide range of items.

For best results, we recommend supplying your design as a vector file (AI, SVG, EPS or high-quality PDF). If you’re not sure what that means, no stress - just send us what you have and we’ll let you know if it’s suitable.

We’ll always check your file before engraving and may make minor adjustments to ensure it engraves cleanly and looks its best on your chosen item.

If your design needs a bit of work (like converting to the right format or tweaking layout/size), we can usually help with that too.

Can I Supply My Own Item?

Yes - in many cases, you can absolutely supply your own item for engraving.

We regularly engrave customer-supplied items such as:

  • Knives
  • Stainless steel, gold and rose gold plated jewellery
  • Bottle openers + drinkware
  • Sports Medals
  • Tools
  • Keychains
  • Metal, wood, and some coated products

If you’re unsure whether your item is suitable, just get in touch - we’re happy to check before proceeding. Many of our clients have their items shipped directly to us - you're welcome to do the same.

Heirloom & Irreplaceable Items

While we take the utmost care with every item, laser engraving is a permanent process and there is always a small element of risk.

For this reason, we prefer not engrave heirloom or irreplaceable items, including:

  • Sentimental family pieces
  • One-of-a-kind items that cannot be replaced
  • High-value items where replacement is not possible
    If your item is irreplaceable, we recommend choosing an alternative - we’re happy to help you find a suitable option.

How Much Does Laser Engraving Cost?

Pricing for engraving services can vary depending on a few key factors:

  • Material type (metal, wood, coated surfaces, etc.)
  • Size and complexity of the design
  • Engraving method (standard engraving vs annealing)
  • Setup time and positioning requirements

Because of this, pricing is not one-size-fits-all.

👉 However, we can usually provide a quick ballpark estimate if you send us:

  • A photo of the item
  • Approximate size of the engraving
  • Your design or wording

For more complex or bulk jobs, we can provide a formal quote.

Engraving vs Annealing – What’s the Difference?

We use different techniques depending on your item and desired finish:

Engraving

  • Removes material to create a recessed design
  • You can feel the engraving
  • More cost-effective

Laser Annealing

  • Changes the surface colour (typically black on stainless steel)
  • Smooth, premium finish with no depth
  • More time-intensive and higher cost
